Got me a 96 Toyota 4Runner for the Apocalypse!
 
I needed new wheels, as my 96 Olds Aurora with 176,000 miles was no longer cutting it.

My buddy needs to sell his 4Runner as he has moved out of state.

Only has 89,000 miles on it. Great condition. Automatic everything.

$2k down, and $200/month for two years.

I can't drive gold or silver, so this was a prep I desperately needed.

Plenty of room for supplies should I need to move out, bug out, or camp out, even if it is only cross town.

Feels good having dependable transportation at a decent price.

That's funny, if I were staying in the US an old Toyota 4 Runner was on my list.

Good price.

Truck should easily last 200K miles and probably 250K.

Plus, it will still be worth close to what you paid for it (even with 150K miles!).

Toyotas are the best freaking cars in the world.

Gas, 6 cyl. automatic.

why pay interest on such a small purchase?

Good thing you got the 3.4 V6, it's a good engine. The earlier 3.0 V6 is one of the worst engines ever made!

Just paying it over time.

He was asking $7,500 and I am paying $6,800.

Put a roof rack on that sucker.
I used to have a toyota van, when I would take the back seat out
and strap stuff to the roof it was really amazing how much stuff I could haul.

Good luck with the Toy, 45. Had Toyota trucks for 15 years and they are great trucks.

One suggestion, ask your bud if he ever got a recall for the head gaskets. If not, check with Toyota to see if your year was and if it was have them changed. They've been something of a problem with several year Toyotas.

I'll check into it thanks.

It looks like that year did have a recall.

Supposedly all regularly scheduled maintenance was done at a Toyota dealership. Hopefully it was taken care of.

You can go into any Toyota dealship in the country and they will be able to tell you if it has had recall work done on it and when it was done.

Or was it Apocalypse Avenue?
